GroupMe is a chat. A Team Scout group is a chat plus the schedule, roster, RSVPs and volunteer slots, and it is free. Any coach or admin in the group can move a practice, and everyone hears about it.
What moves over
- The people. Families come over through a join link posted in the old GroupMe.
- The schedule. It comes in from a photo or PDF of the printed schedule, and the coach reviews it before it posts.
- Old chat history stays in GroupMe.
Nobody has to move mid-season. Your old tool keeps running as long as you keep paying for it, so it stays the safety net while families settle in.
What your families see in week one
A link in the GroupMe chat, a texted sign-in code, and they are in the team group. Practices land on their phone's calendar, and they get a push notification when something moves. Nobody gets in without the link, and there are no ads.
Day 1
Create the group and import the schedule.
Day 2
Post the join link in GroupMe with one line: “Schedule and updates live here now.”
Days 3 to 6
Post everything in Team Scout and point to it from GroupMe.
Day 7
Change GroupMe to announcements-only, with a pinned link.

Every price, printed
The group, the calendar, the roster and volunteer sign-ups are free. When the program starts collecting money, registration and tickets are in the same app.

- Team$39 a month
- Registration with payment plans, invoices, sponsorships. Plus 3.9% of what you collect.
- Club$105 a month
- Everything in Team at 2.9% of what you collect.
Card processing is passed through at cost. Tickets cost the buyer $1 up to $10, then $1 plus 4%. Donations are free to the program, with an optional tip from the donor.
